how too beat Roma

Post by Krøvel Velle Voll »

This is how we are gonna give Roma a hard time in Norway; we are gonna remove the grass from the stadium and replace it with a lot of mud, water and snow. Mutch snow. And we are gonna pray to God himself that it is gonna be a cold and snowy day. And the poor Roma-players are gonna get snow and water in their hair, and dirt on the outfit. Fransesco Totti is probably gonna cry when he is laying swimming in the dirt. Welcome to the North of Norway.

Why don't you Tromsø friends make a banner for us and for Italy?
Just think that about 4-5 million people usually watch Roma's UEFA cup matches on tv! More than Norwegian whole population!!
It will be a big moment of glory for the city of Tromsø and the fantastic population!!

First off all, I don't think that it will snow on October 20th. Second off all, I don't think Totti is gonna play. Like it said in the newspaper. Roma is not gonna use all their best men against a "amature" team like Tromso.
And that's one think all Tromso fans can look forward to!!

(Æ syns jo sælvsagt at TIL ikje e no Amatør lag men d e liksom.. jaja, whatever! :P)

Zussy / Domle can you translate this for me.

"Rome wasn't built in a day, Tromsø will destroy it in 90 minutes"

and

"Welcome to Tromsø all our italian friends "

Well, there are signals coming from Rome, that they possibly won't use their best team against TIL. Me personally, would love to make a banner messing with their "superstar" Totti, but if he isn't playing it would be rather pointless.

Therefore I think the smartest thing would be to make fun of Rome as a club. It would be cool if you Italian TIL-fans (I just love that, btw) could translate some of the suggestions in this forum to italian.

I have a few:
"Hey Rome, are you cold/freezing?"

"Look Rome, there are fans here. Weird, huh?"
or
"Hey Rome, 6000 crazy fans in a 6000-capacity Alfheim vs. zero fans at 80000-capacity Stadio Olimpico!" What would you choose?"

(Last two about UEFA forcing them to play som home-matches in front of an empty stadium, because of hooliganism in the CL last year)

"Welcome to red-white freezing hell"
or
"Look Rome, hell just froze over!"

"Watch out Rome, we have Polar Bears for the half-time entertainment, and they just love italian food"
"The socialism I believe in is everyone working for eachother, everyone having a share of the rewards. It's the way I see football, it's the way I see life"

Roma, hai freddo?

Roma, ci sono fans qui. Strano no?
or
Roma, 6000 fan pazzi nell' Alfheim da 6000 posti contro zero fans nell'Olimpico da 80000! Cosa scegliete?

Benvenuti nell'inferno biancorosso
or
La nostra neve è il vostro inferno.

Fuori ci sono degli orsi polari per l'intervallo.. amano il cibo italiano...

This is the best one, but English people say "Rome wasn't built in a day", in Italy is not used so much.

however:
"Roma non è stata costruita in un giorno. Il Tromsø la distruggerà in 90 minuti!"

Domle translations are good, but i suggest you to translate your banner not into Italian but into Rome popular dialekt... because all Rome supporters usually talk using that one instead of Italian (it's just slightly different, anybody in Italy will understand it as well!)

- Aò! Ve state a gelà? Copriteve ("Are you freezing? Get a blanket")
- Aò! State a tremà? (Are you freezing/Are you scared - it means both!)

Anyway the best i think it's "La nostra neve è il vostro inferno. " (litterally: Out snow it your hell)
